The Contois School of Music would like to welcome Thom Carvey to our teaching and CSM staff. Thom is a talented and versatile multi-instrumentalist as well as a seasoned music instructor who has been sharing his craft in VT and New England for over 20 years. He started as a saxophone player at age 7 and has continued to hone his craft since then. He graduated from Hartwick College with a BA in Music Performance and has continued to expand his own working knowledge of music while sharing his knowledge with others in the process. Thom brings experience, education, and a true passion for music. Along with his extensive educational background, he also brings decades of playing experience (both stage and studio) to the table. He has played all over the US, Virgin Islands, and Europe. He has played with some of Vermont's best bands in artists over the years, such as The Jalapeno Brothers, Chad Hollister, Tammy Fletcher, Keeghan Nolan, Aaron Flinn, and Carol Ann Jones just to name a few. He has also been involved with the CSM band over the last year or so, not only contributing his talents on sax and bass but sharing his performing experience as well. Thom's musical tastes run the gamut as well, including Rock, Jazz, Classical, Funk, Fusion, World/New Age, Country, Metal, Blues....(you get the idea). He teaches all levels of ability on Sax, Bass, Guitar, and Vocals, making him a truly diverse musician/teacher. More information on the school, lessons, and classes can be found here:
